Reel Roller kits give a "stripe" to the lawn by laying the grain
of the grass in the same direction the mower is traveling.
Mowing in alternate directions creates the striped effect. The
full - length roller helps prevent scalping because it rides to
the highest contour of the yard, an improvement over casters
which can dip into low places. Reel
Roller kits add a little weight to the front of the mower, which
can keep the mower from bouncing around on rougher yards. All
Reel Roller kits we offer can be attached using the mower's
original hardware. Mowers with Reel Roller kits use the same
method of height adjustment as the original casters and retain
their original mowing height range.

can't recommend this product highly enough. My
Tifway lawn is not very smooth, but the Reel
Roller allows me to cut the grass down at 1/2
inch, where Tifway makes that classic carpet,
without scalping! This would simply not be possible
with the original casters on the mower."
